OCD: The Brutal Truth-I share the reality of what OCD is really like, especially in a religious context.

I am an active striving member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have a testimony of the truth of my faith, but I struggled fitting into the cultural perception and narrative I grew up with. My faith was misplaced most of my life, and very much distorted by OCD. It wasn't until well into adulthood I realized I was basing my faith on people, not Christ.

Unfortunately in that journey I went to hell, and I would say literally. I share in honest brutal detail the millstone of OCD and the awful places the stress can take you to. I go into detail about symptoms of "psychotic depression" and the horror that is "Akathisia", two terrifying experiences I unfortunately endured.

But I'm ALIVE, and I'm writing this blog, and I'm a drummer, so it always gets better! OCD is not your faith, it distorts your faith into something it is not. Jesus, its about Jesus!

Thoughts-AZ Sunlight Positive Youth- It wasn't all bad. Yes, OCD has always been a chronic issue, but I have so many fond memories of growing up in The Valley of the Sun.

Thoughts-Unorthodox LDS Guy+Dating Abnormal Brain Chemistry + Unorthodox Career Path=Love has been a struggle in the interesting, culturally driven, higher pressure LDS dating scene. BUT I LOVE THE GOSPEL, AND I LOVE JESUS!

LYRICS- Writing lyrics is therapeutic, I've written quite a few songs over the years, but haven't put any to songs yet, but that's all going to change this year.
